The plan is not having a plan

October 30, 2016. Landing in Katmandu for the second time. Just a year after the earthquake, the whole city was in rebuilding. Despite the presence of rubbles all around, It was the first day of Diwali, and the festivities were full swing. ‘The festival of lights’ is a very special moment in Nepali’s life, the enthousiasm of the crowd was palpable. During Diwali, each day has a specific celebration meaning: here I had the chance to take part with my mum and my friend Suzeeta to the first & second day, that are traditionally about cleaning homes and shopping to prepare the four next days of celebration, as well as decorating the devanture floors of homes with those bright-coloured powder pigments mandalas and light candles, symbols of good fortune.  My attention was cought by the big amount of intense color pigments, sold everywhere in the streets.
